Design Process:
My process begins with determining the design direction with a mood board.
The client wanted something sleek, luxurious, and minimal. I researched the industry’s brands to see what trends are popular and what I can do to make the brand unique.
The color palette is minimal and comprised of warm tones, fitting for a candle flame.
The client wanted to use the Japanese word 点灯 (tento), which means to light up, as the brand name. I wanted to create a logomark that perfectly combined the Japanese background and the meaning behind the name. We ended up with a logomark that combines a cherry blossom petal in the negative space of a candle flame.
